about our founder
Samantha razook
Samantha Razook is the founder and CEO of Curious Jane. She started the company in 2009 as a summer camp for her own girls – and all girls – to be creative and inventive in a high-energy space.
Samantha earned her BA in Graphic Design from Yale and her Masters in Industrial Design from Pratt –– so, experimenting, collaborating and building; thinking with her hands; encouraging intellectual curiosity; and supporting girls in STEAM all come from a personal place.
In 2014, Curious Jane was recognized by Chase for its social impact, and was awarded $250k to grow the business.
In 2015, the company launched Curious Jane Magazine, an in-print, ad-free maker magazine, with both a subscriber base and newsstand presence.
Today, Curious Jane runs camps, classes, and workshops year-round; prints project books in addition to publishing the magazine; and collaborates with like-minded organizations to share their content with new audiences.
