a crafty sneak peek into the world of space and stars

for 2nd-3rd grades

This theme focuses on the magic and mystery beyond our earth and deep in space. During a week packed with activities, girls learn about the stars, constellations, nebulae, space storms, and the enormous variety in the make-up of the moon and planets.

Everything revolves around creative, hands-on projects. Favorites include galaxy slime, stomp rockets, kinetic moon sand, starry-eyed kaleidoscopes, nebula jars and constellation jars. Over the course of the week, young makers construct their own planets – each part of the class solar system – and populate them with a miniature community of their own imagination.

How do we celebrate their projects at the end of the week? With a LAUNCH party of course!
