finesse your story-telling skills and create your own comic book!

for 4th-6th grades

This is a *new* class for 2024, and it’s designed just for the 4th-6th grade group. Bring your stories, your sillies, your surprises and your fantastical ideas. Hone your skills through storyboarding; sharpen your use of plot and story arc; and bring your characters to life through dialog and expression. Learn how to use images and words together to create impact and a cohesive story line. Try out different visual techniques in 2-D and 3-D; then bring everything together into a comic book for your final piece.

ALL NEW PROJECTS INCLUDE: Storyboarding, Lettering, Plot Line Timelines, Character Trading Cards, Story Maps, Flip Books and Pop-Up Pages, and of course – creating your Comic Story Panels and binding it together into a book.

FUN FACT: While the first comic book popped up in 1869, their real emergence took place in the 1930s, originally as reprints of newspaper funnies, and then (quickly) as book series in their own right.
