instructions

1

create a template for the frame. use ours as a guide – cut along the solid lines and fold along the dashed lines.

2

attach a white sheet of paper, the width of your folded frame, at the bottom of your template.

3

fold the cardstock frame over the white sheet.

attach the white paper and the cardstock frame along the long side that reads GLUE.

4

stack a second sheet of white paper (5.5 x 8.5 in) underneath a piece of transparency film of the same size.

6

staple along the top and cover with a strip of tape. write PULL along the tape tab.

7

fold the transparent sheet back and draw a simple map in black marker on the white cardstock (portrait orientation).

8

lay the transparency back, on top of the map. use a black sharpie to carefully trace the simple map that you first drew. don’t include any of the secret details!

TIP! when making the picture, keep in mind that the transparent sheet will always be there – either over a blank paper or over the full drawing.

think strategically! make sure not to cover anything important while making your outline.

7

fold the transparent sheet back and draw a simple map in black marker on the white cardstock (portrait orientation).

9

slide your double layered drawing into your frame from the top. the white sheet inside the frame should be sandwiched between the clear and solid papers, separating the drawings. now we will only see the transparent drawing UNTIL you pull up on the tape tab and reveal the full image!
