when we went through the archives, we found photos of so many fantastic creations from carnival days at camp.
these monster toss designs blew our minds! they are so fantastic and filled with personality!
they are the inspiration for the monster toss boards you will find on this page. we included a basic how-to, but don’t follow what we do…
grab some cardboard, get crazy creative and invent your own!

maker checklist
for monster hands:
- colorful cotton gloves
- adhesive glitter craft foam
- bits of felt and ribbon
- scissors and glue
- rice or lentils (to fill)
for monsters:
- cardboard or foam core
- glues and tapes
- scissors or craft knife
- collage materials
- adhesive craft foam
- colored of paper
- lots of crafty bits!
instructions
make your monster bean bag hands

start with a collection of cotton gloves in bright colors. mix and match!

cutsparkly nails from glitter craft foam and attach to each glove finger.
cut felt bits for the eyes and lips. secure with hot glue.
get creative and give them plenty of personality!

fill with dry rice or lentils and secure tightly at the wrist with a rubber band. tie a ribbon for a pop of color.
make your monster toss backboard

sketch your monster on a sheet of paper until you get the style you’re going for. then transfer the sketch to a large sheet of cardboard or foam core.

get your supplies ready and get into it!

for collaged monster:
collage the shape of the monsters head and body with magazine scraps.

for checkered monster:
cut 6 squares of the same size from two colors of paper then patch them together and cut a heart from the patchwork paper.

decorate and give it *lots* of personality!
