- markers + paper
- spy glasses template (included)
- 2 pcs. red acetate (1.5 x 2 inches)

make your glasses

cut out our template, or use it as a guide to make your own.

cut along the solid lines, and fold on the dotted lines.

carefully cut out the rectangle spaces for the lenses.

tape a piece of red acetate over the cut out lens.
tip!
if you don’t have red acetate (gels) you can use a bit of plastic from a pasta box and color it with a red Sharpie.
write a secret message

test out your colors! make some marks on a piece of white paper, and lay the acetate on top of it to see which colors stay visible.

write the message in a few scattered letters across your page. use the color that *showed* through when you tested it out.
tip!
cool colors show through. warm colors hide.

conceal the message by filling in the rest of the paper with random letters in the colors that disappear!
